From Mount Baekdu to One Team, Envisioning a New Leap Forward
– 2025 Qlight Mount Baekdu Workshop (Yanji, China) –
In December 2025, marking its 40th anniversary, Qlight held a Mount Baekdu workshop bringing together employees from its Korean headquarters and Chinese subsidiary. The workshop took place over four days and three nights, from December 24 to 27, in Yanji and the Mount Baekdu region, serving as a meaningful opportunity to reflect on the company’s 40-year journey and to share a common vision for the future.
1. The Beginning of the Journey, Taking the First Steps Together
On the first day, participants arrived at Yanji Chaoyangchuan International Airport and visited the Tumen River Riverside Park, taking time to experience the local scenery together. They then traveled to Erdaobaihe, officially beginning the workshop program, engaging in natural conversations and getting to know one another beyond organizational boundaries.
From the outset, the workshop steadily built the meaning of a “journey taken together.” Rather than focusing on roles or affiliations, the emphasis was placed on human connection, gradually narrowing the distance between individuals and opening the workshop with a shared sense of companionship.
2. Gathering at Mount Baekdu, Reflecting on 40 Years
The second day featured the core event of the workshop: the Mount Baekdu ascent. Against a backdrop of snow-covered landscapes, participants moved at a pace considerate of one another, visiting Changbai Waterfall and the open-air hot spring area while experiencing the mountain’s majestic natural environment firsthand.
Navigating an unfamiliar setting while caring for one another strengthened trust and solidarity among employees.
On December 25, official workshop sessions and lectures were held. To commemorate the company’s 40th anniversary, key employees from both the Korean and Chinese entities gathered to share Qlight’s growth story and their individual experiences.
Discussions went beyond reviewing achievements, focusing instead on personal journeys with the company, on-site experiences, and expressions of gratitude toward the organization and colleagues. Despite differences in work environments and languages, a shared sense of responsibility and alignment toward the future brought everyone together.
This gathering served both as a reflection on Qlight’s past 40 years and as a collective consideration of its future direction.
3. Commitments Shaped by Experience, Toward a New Journey
During individual speaking sessions, department leaders reflected on their experiences and shared their aspirations moving forward.
The Head of the R&D Center reviewed the evolution of Qlight’s products, from function-focused designs to increasingly intelligent solutions, sharing that the greatest sense of fulfillment comes from seeing customers trust and actively use Qlight products.
The Head of the Headquarters Production Team spoke about the transformation from a labor-intensive environment to a modern production line, and further to the smart manufacturing initiatives currently underway. He emphasized that these achievements were made possible by a long-standing commitment to quality and clearly defined standards.
The Head of the China Purchasing Team shared experiences under the principle of “securing excellent quality at reasonable cost,” explaining how stable supply and cost management have been maintained despite significant raw material price fluctuations.
These reflections reaffirmed that, rather than flashy strategies, it is the trust and experience built over time that have shaped Qlight’s organizational culture.
4. Exchange and Reflection, Strengthening Teamwork
On the third day, participants visited the birthplace of Yun Dong-ju and the March 13 Movement Memorial Site, taking time to reflect on the region’s history and spirit. They also visited Yongdure Well, sharing insights into local culture and its significance.
A banquet and networking session provided a relaxed setting for Korean and Chinese employees to connect more openly, deepening mutual understanding and strengthening bonds as one unified team.
5. Beyond 40 Years, Moving in the Same Direction
On the final day, participants visited the Yanji office where Qlight China first began operations, bringing the four-day workshop to a close.
This workshop was more than an overseas event; it was an opportunity to reflect on Qlight’s 40-year journey and reaffirm the direction ahead. The shared experience at the symbolic site of Mount Baekdu will continue to resonate in daily work and collaboration.
Building on the strengthened execution capability, broader perspective, and spirit of collaboration fostered through this workshop, Qlight employees will move forward together as they prepare for the company’s next leap forward.
